Mission
Reeves Construction Company, a leader in heavy civil construction, has an immediate opening in Savannah, GA for a Senior Estimator with a minimum of 10 years of experience in highway construction, site development, utilities and asphalt paving. The ideal candidate should have experience in all phases of bid and proposal development for public bid-build and design build projects and private site development projects. Candidates must be a conscientious, responsible, self-motivated, innovative, enterprising and effective leader. Candidates must also be detail oriented, exhibit good judgement in decision making, have excellent communication skills, and be able to effectively solve problems. Civil Engineering or Construction Management degrees preferred. Knowledge of HCSS software program and take off software such as AGTEK or Bluebeam is a plus.
Main Responsibilities
- Attend Pre-Bid Meetings and visit sites to collect information.
- Lead estimating team and coordinate estimates with senior management.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoff and summaries
- Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities and maintaining a bid schedule to ensure estimating team meets required deadlines.
- Ability to organize and lead large project and/or design-build pursuits
- Prepare construction estimates by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs.
- Solicit bids and proposals from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
- Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
- Maintain and develop customer/client relationships
- Negotiate with customers during pre-construction phase on pricing and scope of work until project award.
- Support operations during pre-construction by scheduling and facilitating hand-off meetings, preparing project budgets, job setup and initiating project procurement.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Mentor and develop team members
- Microsoft Office Skills are a requirement.
- Some travel is required.

A valid, current Driver's License with a clean driving history is required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required with Civil Engineering or Construction Management degrees preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in highway construction, site development, utilities and asphalt paving is required.
