About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Battery Energy Storage Engineer specializing in high voltage systems. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of electrical engineering, energy storage systems, and battery technology. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, implementation, and optimization of battery energy storage solutions that align with our project needs and sustainability objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and design cutting-edge battery energy storage systems to enhance energy efficiency and reliability.
- Oversee the integration of Battery Management Systems (BMS), Power Conversion Systems (PCS), and other power control units to ensure stable battery operation.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate battery storage solutions with renewable energy projects.
- Perform system testing and validation to ensure adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
- Interpret and analyze single-line diagrams, applying a solid understanding of electricity transmission.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in battery technology and energy storage systems.
- Offer technical support throughout the planning, installation, and commissioning stages of projects.
- Compile and deliver technical reports, documentation, and insights to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the innovation of energy storage strategies, including potential patents.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a closely related field; a Master’s degree or higher is preferred. At least 2 years of experience in battery energy storage systems, electrical engineering, or related disciplines. Strong knowledge of power electronics and various energy storage technologies. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., UL, NFPA), regulations, and safety practices related to energy storage systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment while managing multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with IoT and smart grid technologies.
- Understanding of environmental and energy regulations.
Pay range and compensation package:
Salary Range: $120K - $180K/year + Stock Options
