A large regional bank in NJ is seeking a Data Governance Lead to develop and design data governance frameworks, programs and principles enterprise-wide utilizing industry best practices. This person will evolve new developing and existing data governance-related policies, standards, processes, metrics, and controls.
Location: Florham Park, NJ (3-4 days/week)
Base salary: Up to 200k base (commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities:
- Define monitoring, data quality controls, and remediation processes partnering with data owners and data delivery teams
- Support Data Governance committee with governance policies, compliance and processes
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data quality requirements and conduct data quality assessments
- Ensures CDEs metadata, business definitions and lineage are documented
- Manage data catalog design and implementation, reflecting both short-term and long-term goals
- Support enterprise metadata management and related activities
- Support continuous improvement of data glossary/cataloguing practices
- Collaborates with Business Unit(s), data stewards/data officers and technical owners/IT to drive business process & workflow improvements
- Assists Data Stewards/Data Officers with documentation of data flows/data lineage as needed
Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in a Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Processing or related
- 6+ years' experience developing and implementing Data Governance policies and processes
- Exhibit ability to coordinate initiatives across multiple teams to adhere to best practices and meet data governance objectives
- Experience in designing and developing standard database objects tables, stored procedures, views, functions, indexes
- Database design experience and experience with data modeling tools like Erwin etc.
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience with leading vendor tools to support data governance activities (e.g. Informatica, Collibra...)
- Ability to rapidly comprehend changes to key business processes and the impact on overall Data Governance framework
- Knowledge of legal, compliance, and regulatory issues impacting data
- Experience and Retail and Commercial banking (strongly preferred)
