We are currently seeking a successful, Associate Director of Electrical Engineering
This position provides technical and design services in support of electrical design projects to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients. This position will be to directly assist the Director of Electrical Engineer with job growth potential to be elevated to the Director of Electrical Engineering in the very near future.
Responsibilities of the Associate Director of Electrical Engineering include:
- Leading the design effort on large and small projects
- Managing design schedules and design team members
- Being able to interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
- Evaluation, selection, and application of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to assigned projects
- Mentoring senior and junior-level staff
- Leading the preparation of various written reports and meeting minutes
- Producing and leading the creation of design documents (drawings and specifications)
- Willingness to travel for projects nationally and internationally
- Providing Quality Control (QC) to assure adherence to applicable codes, company standards, and project requirements
- Serving as a technical consultant concerning planning, design, and construction for different categories of facilities
- Providing assistance in the determination of departmental resources and long-term planning
- Delegation of tasks and responsibilities
- Serving as the individual in responsible charge of projects (DOR)
Required Experience - Associate Director of Electrical Engineering:
- BS in Electrical Engineering with PE Registration and the ability to be licensed by comity in other states
- 15 plus years of experience in Electrical Design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies
- Extensive knowledge of the National Electric Code
- Strong knowledge of Building Codes, Applicable NFPA Codes, and Energy Codes
- Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare or Aviation are preferred but not required
- Must know REVIT and AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
- Must be able to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects
- Must be self-motivated and work independently to complete work assignments
- Must be a US Citizen and have a valid driver's license
- LEED AP certification preferred
