The Product Coordinator takes the lead on all new development programs. Responsibilities include working with our product development team and sales team to assist in the development of projects, following product from conception to retail. This position also liaisons with our office overseas communicate requests for products. The Product Coordinator will provide continuous communication between Bentonville office, New York, and overseas teams throughout the process.
Job Function/Purpose:
Product Coordinator Overview
- Work closely with product managers for initial development of all new items/programs.
- Collect and review information for all items with product manager and sales team
- Create the development tracker which encompasses all necessary item information accurately by program and factory.
- The development tracker is the details of the items; the sourcing manager will ensure its accuracy and can explain the program/items to leadership.
Quote Creation
- Participate in the initial conversation with sales and product manager on all items requested through RFQ’s, and on all items to be sampled, and quoted.
- Process all requests from email notification, to be sent to sales, product manager, sourcing managers, and leadership.
- Create quotes import and domestic within Retail Link Quote Management app sending to sales for review and approval.
- Continuous updates to quotes as products reach the final sampling and buyer review.
Weekly Communication
- Establish weekly meetings with product and sales team to review items for their specific programs.
- Share critical factory/product information on items that are in the sampling phase with team in ensure product is on track with specs, timing, and pricing.
- Maintain development tracker so that everyone can view items progress.
Processing Selected Items
- Once items are selected by Walmart, work with product manager and designer to develop tech pack with all the details of the item to send to the factory for production.
- If packaging is required, all packaging needs are communicated to designer to create packaging as buyer communicates.
- Once packaging is complete send to leadership and sales to approve, then packaging file is sent to factory
Retail Link Requirements
- Working knowledge of item 360, Quote Management, and FlexPLM.
