What your day will look like:
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in assigned work areas, promptly report any workplace safety hazards or conditions.
- Perform repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of dies.
- Collaborate with the production department to address tooling issues.
- Analyze blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan the sequence of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
- Use measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators, to verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts.
- Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and bench grinders to cut, bore, grind, and shape parts to specified dimensions.
- File, grind, shim, and adjust parts for proper fit.
- Work with large progressive, transfer, and deep draw dies.
- Cut, shape, and trim blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes using both power and hand tools.
- Troubleshoot problems and determine effective solutions and rework damaged components efficiently.
What we are looking for:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in die repair or a related technical field, ideally within a metal stamping environment.
- Proficient in reading, interpreting, and understanding safety, operational, and maintenance documents and procedures.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain certifications for Industrial Powered Lift Truck, Overhead Crane operation, and Lock Out/Tag Out Authorization.
- Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting to meet delivery schedules.
- Willingness to work overtime, including daily shifts, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
