Responsibilities:
Serve as Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS) Coordinator for Bariatric accreditation program. The MBS Coordinator works closely with MBS Director and Clinical Reviewer, assisting with:
- Program development, managing the accreditation process, ensuring continuous compliance with MBSAQIP Standards, maintaining relevant pathways and protocols, patient education, monitoring outcomes data and collection, quality improvement initiatives, and education of relevant staff with a focus on metabolic and bariatric patient safety.
- Supporting the development of written protocols and education of nursing staff detailing the rapid communication and basic response to critical patient findings that are specifically required to minimize delays in the diagnosis and treatment of serious adverse events.
- Serves as the liaison between the facility and all metabolic and bariatric proceduralists at the center and any general surgeons providing call coverage.
- Assists in maintaining documentation of call schedule provide by all covering surgeons and providing access to the call schedule to all departments of the facility that provide care for metabolic and bariatric patients.
- Other responsibilities as outlined by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.
Serves as breast cancer clinical navigator, assisting with:
- Answering patient questions throughout the treatment process.
- Facilitate provider recommendations regarding care and making sure patients understand.
- Provide patients with facts regarding treatment and care.
- Assess social and educational needs of patients, offering appropriate resources as necessary.
- Support breast cancer patients and their families in understanding and coping with emotions that accompany breast cancer diagnosis.
- Remains a constant caregiver and overseer of the patient s journey throughout the breast cancer process.
Serve as clinical resource for general surgery triage.
- Lead and educate staff on appropriate patient post-operative triage.
- Provide factual consultation and appropriate resources when necessary.

Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose
Provides direct patient care to identified patients in collaboration with providers and care team to assess, develop and implement a plan of care to deliver clinically appropriate, high-quality, cost-effective care. The ambulatory RN offers oversight/guidance to clinical staff working in the clinic and helps to support providers with daily patient management.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with PCPs and Specialists to develop and implement care plans to maximize healthcare outcomes and facilitate wellness with periodic review and update according to department protocols.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
- Assures that clinical protocols and patient assessment guidelines are followed in accordance with standard operating procedures and compliance guidelines.
- Supports providers in appropriately documenting patient assessment and treatment protocols in accordance with compliance standards.
- Provides patient education and support, including verbal and written instructions; uses the appropriate tools and techniques to assess the patient s and/or family s ability to receive education; takes initiative to problem solve and demonstrates critical thinking skills.
