Title: Lead Network Engineer / Architect
Duration: Full-time Permanent position
Salary: $125,000 - $145,000
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficient experience with Data Transfer Notes
• Proficiency in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, packets, and layers.
• Experience with high-performance computing environments and research network applications (e.g., Slurm, Globus, ESNET Science DMZ).
• Familiarity with scripting and coding (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Experience with hybrid and cloud methodologies.
Job Description:
The Lead Network Systems Engineer/ Architect is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of dedicated network infrastructures supporting a university’s research mission. This senior-level role requires advanced technical expertise and leadership skills to mentor junior engineers.
• Network Design & Maintenance: Design, plan, implement, and maintain complex research network infrastructures using hybrid/cloud methodologies.
• Daily Administration: Oversee high-performance networks, including Science DMZ, and perform technical inspections to resolve critical issues.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor less-experienced engineers, manage complex infrastructure projects, and provide cross-departmental technical leadership.
• Collaboration & Outreach: Engage with researchers, IT peers, and department managers to optimize network services and support the research community.
Compensation:
125K-145K Annually
