Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager with 2-3 years of experience in commercial construction. The ideal candidate will support the Project Manager in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of construction processes and project management principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising construction projects.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Conduct regular site visits to oversee work quality, safety compliance, and resolve any issues that arise.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and progress reports.
- Assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control measures are in place.
- Facilitate communication between project stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on project goals and objectives.
- Support the Project Manager in conducting project meetings and presentations.
- Assist in identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and company standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in commercial construction project management.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and project management methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing project needs.
