Overview:
We are seeking a motivated GIS Analyst Level I/II/III to join our team supporting a Pacific Northwest utility company. The successful candidate will primarily focus on reducing the backlog of electric and gas as-builts, utilizing their expertise in mapping and digitization. This role will involve working with GE Small World Electric Office and Gas Office systems, as well as SAP for ticketing and project management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field.
- Background in GIS
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
-Ability to work onsite in the delivery team office that is located in San Ramon (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:
- Digitize electric and gas as-built maps using GE Small World Electric Office and Gas Office.
- Modernize legacy documentation for remediation and digitization purposes.
- Utilize SAP as a ticketing system to manage construction drawings, materials, and project scope documents.
- Review documents and digitize them accurately, ensuring connectivity, shape files, alignment, and adherence to real-life measurements.
- Run data validations and continuity checks, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control team for project verification and validation.
- Assist in geo-referencing tasks as needed, following standards provided by the company.
- Collaborate with various teams including lineman, foreman, and installers to ensure accurate mapping for operational safety and efficiency.
Additional Information:
- Safety is a top priority for our company, and accuracy in mapping directly contributes to operational safety.
- Expectations include maintaining a high level of accuracy (95-98%) and adhering to safety protocols, especially for medium and high voltage projects.
- Discrepancies are expected occasionally and should be resolved promptly using available resources such as Google Maps, Bing Maps, or County information.
