We are looking for a Plant Engineer to support our Oil & Gas Solutions site across process, reliability, project, and controls engineering. In this role, you will provide daily technical expertise and engineering support, lead efforts in process optimization and troubleshooting, enhance and maintain equipment reliability, and manage capital projects. Additionally, you will collaborate on new product introductions, scale-ups, and feasibility studies.
Your Responsibilities:
- Implement process optimization improvements and oversee OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) reporting and analysis.
- Provide technical support for incident investigations, process deviations, and Management of Change (MOCs).
- Contribute to technology transfers and the introduction of new products.
- Identify and address process variations, implement corrective measures, and track their effectiveness.
- Analyze process data and critical quality parameters to control the manufacturing process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
- Investigate off-grade batches, determine root causes, report findings, and implement corrective actions.
- Offer process input for creating and revising manufacturing batch sheets.
- Assess current equipment capabilities and determine potential capital requirements.
- Monitor equipment performance, identify root causes of failures, and develop strategies to prevent them.
- Maintain and enhance equipment reliability.
- Prepare and manage flow diagrams, batch sheets, P&IDs, SOPs, and equipment and control specifications.
- Manage capital projects, including overseeing expenditures and cost tracking.
- Design and improve process systems.
- Train maintenance and production staff on unit operations, chemistries, batch recipes, and DCS changes/enhancements.
- Support plant DCS and PLC control systems, including programming and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and update the plant PI process book data historian.
- Embrace and promote Manufacturing Excellence.
- Adhere to all safety rules and company policies.
- Comply with local EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) regulations.
- Participate in, coordinate, or lead process hazard reviews, pre-startup safety reviews, and management of change.
- Serve as a role model for site leadership, engage in employee activities, and champion safety and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or site leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field with 5-10 years of experience in petroleum or chemical manufacturing.
- Proficiency in process design and operation of equipment in a petroleum or chemical manufacturing setting.
- Highly organized, systematic, independent, and self-motivated.
- Ability to prioritize, schedule, inspect work, and manage resources across multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in reading, understanding, and developing P&IDs, batch sheets, process flow diagrams, and other engineering documents.
- Capability to perform fieldwork as needed to collect and verify data.
- Ability to interpret written procedures (SOPs) and verbal instructions.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with experience in creating procedures and training operational staff.
- Experience in leading process improvement initiatives and raising awareness at the plant.
- Proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office, and engineering spreadsheets/calculations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and communication with diverse functional leaders.
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt quickly to changing assignments, and meet deadlines and targets.

- Competitive base salary range: $80,560 to $100,700 per year. Compensation packages may vary based on individual factors, and total compensation may include bonuses and other incentives.
