Position: Senior Network Engineer, IP Remediation
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Duration: 12 Months
Assist in design and planning for Internet Protocol remediation of identified IP/Route overlaps for Routes and Overlaps.
Assist with planning and implementation efforts regarding:
• Finalize IP overlap worksheet with missing data from; firewall zones, load balancer pools, Network Address Translation ranges.
• Review the IP overlap worksheet with architects and help to define descriptions for each overlap.
• Review and document known services that are tied to the overlapping networks, and identify what services will need to be changed (i.e., Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Identity Services Engine (ISE), monitoring, Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) Tunnels)
Participate in and guide other engineers in support of the following:
• Support the development and documentation of framework to address IP Remediation with minimum business impact.
• Assign new IP ranges for overlap remediation.
• Provide documentation for change management.
• Schedule the cutover with the business and any third parties required.
• Enable multinetting
• Work with client operation partners for end user testing.
• Complete required network changes for end-to-end testing to pass.
• Provide support after the cutovers.
• Update Internet Protocol Address Management (IPAM) documentation.
• Perform post-implementation testing to ensure that the tasks were successfully completed within the environment.
• Update Internet Protocol Address Management (IPAM) documentation.
