We are hiring a Senior Data Product Manager to lead our Data Product team, bridging the gap between business needs and technology. As a leader in this organization, you will ensure that the business partners can easily understand, access, and utilize data.
As a team, we work together onsite in Oak Brook, IL, Monday through Wednesday every week. This is critical to maintaining the balance between business and technical teams and building culture. We enjoy the work we do and the people we work with! Relocation is available for candidates to move closer to our office, we have some communities within a 20-30 minute commute
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of data products, from requirements gathering, data modeling, and delivery of actionable insights
- Guide the process where data architecture decides on modeling, data engineering populates models with data, and the Data Products team develops a platinum layer and reporting in a medallion architecture
- Oversee the creation and optimization of custom platinum layers for various business units, ensuring that these layers support self-service BI, dashboards, and data science initiatives
- Utilize Azure Databricks, Power BI, and other tools to address technical challenges and ensure business needs are met
- Assist users with SQL, Scala, and data tools for effective analysis and reporting
- Facilitate collaboration with business and technology teams to deliver the correct data to the right people to make the right decision in minutes or hours instead of days or weeks
- Advance best practices and develop the team to be the data subject matter experts for their business partners by building relationships and demonstrating expertise.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or another related field
- 10 years of experience in analytics, with the ability to manage complex projects
- Strong programming foundation in Python, Spark, Pandas, etc.
- Prior experience in building customer and self-service solutions using Azure Databricks
- Power BI Development and Design-related certification would be a bonus
- Proficiency with project management tracking tools such as Jira
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work onsite in Oak Brook, Illinois, Monday - Wednesday
