The ideal candidate will design, organize, and modify the company's computer systems. This individual will evaluate and assess systems to ensure they are operating effectively. Based on assessments, this individual will harness collected knowledge and make adjustments to existing systems.
MUST BE A PHILADELPHIA RESIDENT OR MOVE TO PHILADELPHIA WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF BEING A W-2 EMPLOYEE.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- They will spend the majority of their time dealing with and working on a variety of projects, such as their disaster recovery project and their migration from VMware to Hyper-V.
- They will be monitoring their VMware environment and handling any incoming tickets.
- Building servers and applying Windows environment patches
- Experience with Windows servers is a must, and Linux experience is a plus.
Most Important Skills/Traits:
- 70% systems / 30% network
- Experience with VMWare and Hyper-V are a must.
- Proficiency in firewall configuration and networking configuration.
- Familiarity with Active Directory.
- Ability to write scripts using PowerShell.
- Understanding of cloud platforms, particularly Azure, is a plus. (While currently on-premises, there is potential for a move to Azure cloud services in the future.)
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
- 5+ years' experience as System Administrator
- Strong analytical skills
