Job Summary
As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and customer satisfaction of our medical aesthetic laser systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to perform complex, heavy-duty assembly of machinery. The ideal candidate will be customer-centric, adaptable, and passionate about delivering high-quality service in a dynamic environment.
Job Duties
- Provide on-site installation, commissioning, and training for medical aesthetic laser systems at client locations.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and uptime of equipment.
- Diagnose technical issues remotely or on-site utilizing strong troubleshooting skills and diagnostic tools.
- Perform complex, heavy-duty assembly of machinery, including independent assembly, during installation, maintenance, and repairs.
- Provide technical support remotely through various channels (phone, email, chat, remote desktop).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, and product development.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to service requests.
- Document service activities including service reports and customer communications.
- Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- High School diploma and 6+ years of experience as a Field Service Engineer in an FDA-regulated company.
- Associate’s degree and 3+6 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer in an FDA-regulated company.
- Bachelor’s degree and equivalent field experience (1-3 years).
- Proven proficiency in field service, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Technical proficiency in electromechanical systems, lasers, optics, and electronics preferred.
- Familiarity with computers and CRM systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation, and customer service skills.
- Assist in drafting Service Manuals and instructions for packing, unpacking and installation.
Working Conditions
- Driving: Regular driving is required, including the operation of a van for transporting equipment. Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Travel: Extensive travel may be required (up to 85%), including domestic and international trips, often on short notice.
- Mobility: Must be physically capable of performing tasks that involve bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching in various environments.
- Assembly: Must be able to perform complex, heavy-duty assembly of machinery, sometimes independently, during installation, maintenance, and repairs.
- Work Environment: May frequently be exposed to clinical settings and client facilities. Must adhere to safety standards and protocols.
- Weekend Travel: Occasional weekend travel may be required based on client needs and project timelines.
