Role: Contract Position
Location: Warren, MI
Length of contract 50 weeks with possible extension
Shift: Availability to work either 1st shift 7 AM - 3:30 PM or 2nd shift 3 PM - 11:30 PM
Pay: $38 - $41/hour range
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required. Mechanical or electrical
- 2-4 years’ experience required.
- Project management- Someone who initiated a project that had deliverables.
- Ability to communicate- Somebody that feels comfortable speaking in front of people. Going in front of clients that is talking about solutions.
- Organizational skills
- Problem solving skills- Example, not able to adjust steering wheel to verify the part number.
- Facilitating meetings
- Shows up to work up
Job Description:
- Vehicle program is where the quality engineer will support.
- They are responsible to diagnose the issue with the vehicle program issues. They will be responsible for fixing the issues and giving out critical updates on the status of the program.
- They will be working with a group of 10 to 15 people.
- Low volume production is the environment.
- Yes, will be up to the candidate.
- Perform early issue identification, tracking and resolution to ensure segment leadership.
- Provide clear and timely communication to Quality, Operations and Program management relative to quality issues.
- Call out issues and collaborate with engineering teams to provide timely containment in order to meet build and validation schedules.
- Work with Validation owners to ensure that any defects are contained/corrected in manner that protects Validation activities.
- Lead launch and current product problem solving activities.
- Deploy quality work according to planned development timing.
- Work with the product team to identify and gather critical status updates for Quality reviews.
- Facilitate Quality Review meetings with integrity of presentation materials.
- Mentor and teach UAW-represented Hourly individuals and Program Teams in use of our Quality tracking and resolution systems.
