VP of Business Operations
Responsibilities
Business Operations
- As member of senior leadership team, actively participate alongside the executive team to evaluate and develop comprehensive business strategy including the prioritization, timing, implementation and execution plans associated thereto.
Accordingly, work with the executive team to clearly define strategic objectives for all critical business operations inclusive of sales and business development that support these strategies.Business Processes Documentation and Evaluation
- Define and document current (“as is”) managerial, operational, sales, financial and other processes including the extent to which these are integrated and automated.
- Evaluate and create gap analyses between current (“as is”) processes and their effectiveness at achieving the defined strategic objectives.
Process Improvement
- Based on evaluation and gap analyses for the current (“as is”) processes, develop specific plans to revise and/or enhance existing process to more effectively achieve our defined strategic objectives, respectively.
- These plans can include and are not limited to modifications to existing manual processes, migration from manual to automated processes and the evaluation of software systems to facilitate both automation and integration into a comprehensive operating system.
Project Management
- For each respective business process and improvement plan, build detailed implementation schedule and timeline including the assignment of all implementation team members, their duties and the critical gating items within the overall schedule.
- When this implementation plan includes software systems, manage and hold accountable the third-party software and systems providers from front end planning, mid-stream implementation progress, through final execution and ongoing maintenance and post-project evaluations and continuous improvement.
- Project manage each implementation and its’ respective implementation team according to the plans and schedules that have been developed.
Oversight and Key Performance Measurement
- Develop management reporting platform from critical business processes that provide transparency and accountability to drive performance of key strategic metrics.
- Train and support subject matter experts and critical business process owners to manage and drive continuous improvement and to train and develop new employees.
- Support the executive and senior leadership team in holding managers, supervisors and employees accountable for their commitment and performance of these key operations.
Qualifications
- Significant business/operations experience in industrial/energy services in a geographically diverse environment including process and systems implementation success
- Must have excellent leadership, communication, problem solving and time management skills.
- Must work well with deadlines and managing multiple team members and stakeholders.
- College degree is preferable.
