A client in the Richmond, Texas area is seeking a Firewall Engineer for a contract-to-hire role
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Firewall Engineer or similar role with a focus on firewall management and network security.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of firewall technologies such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network security policies, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
- Experience with network monitoring tools and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP Security, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE) are preferred.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
