About the Role:
The Plant Director will oversee the day-to-day and strategic planning for all aspects of the plant operations including safety, quality, people, sanitation, production, engineering/maintenance, and warehousing.
**This leadership position is located in Lubbock, Texas and relocation support is provided**
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have 10-15 years of progressively responsible management experience in a manufacturing environment and the following qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years as a Plant Manager an absolute must have
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is required
- Strong lean and Continuous improvement success record.
- Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, result oriented, strong organizational and planning abilities, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Have a demonstrated track record leading change and team/individual development in a turnaround environment.
Educational Requirement:
BS Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing direct leadership, coaching and development for all aspects of manufacturing including safety, quality, production, maintenance, warehouse with indirect leadership for finance and human resources.
- Owns creating a culture where human safety, food safety and quality are absolute to ensure a safe working environment along with monitoring compliance standards and directly addressing any identified gaps.
- Ultimately owns the integrity of performance management of all Team Members including performance reviews, goal setting, production targets, accountability, career development and succession planning.
- Responsible for developing plant master plan aligning to overall SC/Business priorities and tracking of key KPI’s to ensure delivery of actions that are directly tied to expected results to achieve committed annual operating plan.
- Establish a culture of accountability and teamwork across the plant organization by developing and communicating individual and team metrics, progress against gaps and move forward action plan to win.
- Accountable for development of annual site budget, development and driver of productivity plan and ongoing management of the plant P&L to deliver on budgetary commitments.
- Provide hands on CI leadership, including evaluating all existing systems, processes, and metrics with a view to recommending and then implementing improvements which will minimize production costs and waste while maximizing production output. Ultimately drives a culture of continuous improvement.
- Drives daily executional excellence through daily direction setting establishing clear and accountable actions that drive production schedules to meet inventory levels, cost and quality goals.
- Supports direct reports to troubleshoot and resolve problems as required; using problem-solving skills quickly ascertains a situation and decisive in solving it; escalate issues as needed to engineering and other department.
- Works effectively across functional silos to drive end to end value.
- Operates with transparency and earns trust at all levels through communication and actions.
