firstPRO is looking for an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer for a client in Delaware. This 6-month consulting position has a hybrid schedule requiring 2 days onsite. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both Windows and Linux server environments, disaster recovery, and enterprise-level system design and implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide technical support for client, server, and cloud environments, ensuring peak performance and security.
- Establish and enforce technology standards across all environments.
- Develop, test, and manage disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Mentor and guide technology staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Offer expert advice on the design and implementation of new technologies.
- Build, manage, and support Windows and Linux-based servers on VXRail and Nutanix platforms.
- Manage and support all aspects of Active Directory and Entra ID.
- Lead and support technology projects from initiation to completion.
- Manage and support virtual infrastructure, including networking, storage, and security.
- Oversee endpoint security systems, including antivirus, patch management, and mobile device management (MDM).
- Support 24x7 data center operations.
- Leverage cloud-based technologies to enhance business operations.
- Lead support efforts for enterprise VMware and Nutanix AHV environments.
- Support Active Directory, Entra ID, domain controllers, and CIS Level 1 Domain controller environments.
- Administer DNS and DHCP services.
- Collaborate with network/security teams on segmentation and firewall management.
- Lead migration projects from traditional VPN to Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA).
- Manage and support Citrix environments.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of corporate experience in a similar role.
- Strong expertise with enterprise virtualization technologies, including VMware, Nutanix, Citrix, or Microsoft.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and support contracts.
- Familiarity with VXRail and Nutanix hyper-converged server platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Server OS (2012R2, 2016, 2019) and Linux OS (Red Hat, CentOS).
- Experience with Microsoft client OS (Windows 10, 11).
- Strong background in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, and associated management tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, particularly in data center device management.
- Experience in the design and architecture of enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with monitoring solutions like Manage Engine OpsManager.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for support and escalation.
- Experience with certificate-based security and mobile device management.
- Microsoft, VMware, Nutanix AHV, and Citrix certifications are a plus.
