MelroseMAC TEC Integration Technician connect our clients to their remote desktops and workstations.
As a Wiring Integrations Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage electrical systems, office internet networks, digital and traditional telephone lines in homes and businesses, under supervision.
Job duties include conducting operational tests on newly installed cable, telephone, and fiber-optic systems, and they perform maintenance on existing cable systems
While specific job duties can vary depending on the type of systems being installed, general duties include:
Troubleshooting and repairing technology system infrastructure.
· Installing data and voice cables for residential and business clients.
· Installing cabled devices.
· Upgrading existing technology and internet systems.
· Performing system maintenance.
Requires an understanding of low voltage systems, regulations, and best practices.
Our Perfect Candidate:
Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Should be positive and outgoing personality
- Professional appearance and excellent customer service
- 1 to 5 year’s experience with the proper pulling techniques for all category cable, coaxial cable, fiber optic cable and high pair count copper backbone cabling.
- AV / Networking / Technology Integration Experience
- Ability to fully interpret and work from project drawings.
- Proficient with installation of Racking system, termination and dressing cable in network closets
- Understand all construction Low voltage System blue prints and symbols
- Understand and install cable pathway per current standards
- Proven knowledge and abilities of installation practices for UTP cabling
- Experience terminating connections on a wide variety of network and AV related cables using a wide array of crimp tools and stripping devices.
- Familiar with a variety of AV cabling terminations, (RGB, VGA, RCA), Security cabling techniques, (door frames, cameras), Security cabling terminations, (BNC, wire terminals).
- Strong understanding of proper attachment hardware, mounting procedures and raceway construction.
- System integration experience
- Work off of ladders, man lifts or reach booms.
Required Abilities and Skills:
- Employee must have ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to balance multiple priorities
- Experience with basic low-voltage or electrical
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, reach, stand, climb ladders, bend, pull, push, twist, and kneel
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record and clean criminal background
- Basic knowledge of computers
