Responsible for on-site management and coordination of all phases of construction activities, to include coordinating subcontractors, material, and equipment. The superintendent will ensure plans and specifications are strictly followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control and job site safety. Additional responsibilities will include the supervision of subcontractors, consultants, and vendors. This will also include ensuring adequate manpower is available for each task and compliant work performed. The superintendent will communicate and coordinate with all staff, Safety, and Quality Control personnel.
Primary Responsibilities
- Initiate setup of a project schedule including activities and logic.
- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, vendors and craftsmen maintaining critical path to ensure timely completion of project / tasks.
- Monitor performance of subcontractors to insure adherence to current drawings/plan and contracted scope of work.
- Assist with review of submittals and shop drawings.
- Coordinate and handle change orders, RFI’s and material submittals.
- Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
- Prepare detailed and timely daily reports including the review of subcontractors’ reports.
- Identify non-compliance and conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
- Ensure subcontractors have corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
- Ensure self-perform work is executed according to schedule, according to generally acceptable quality standards, and is safe environment.
- Walk, inspect, and monitor entire project site daily to monitor activities and manage the future planning.
- Manage and conduct weekly subcontractor status meetings.
- Manage a clean, safe and organized job site.
- Manage and review and maintain onsite material inventories and delivery statuses with team.
Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, 8+ years preferred
- OSHA 30 Hour
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook plus Adobe
- Safety Minded
- Possess a current driver’s license
- Must pass physical exam
- Position requires 75% travel/temp relocation to project sites
