A highly reputable and rapidly growing renewables design and installation organization seeks to hire a Vice President of Operations at their HQ in Southeast Michigan due to a pending retirement. Reporting directly to the President, the VP of Operations will strategically lead four departments: Construction, Project Management, Service, and Procurement. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to departmental leaders (Directors, Managers) of Construction, Project Management, Service, and Procurement functions.
- Ensure departmental alignment between Project Management Organization and Construction/Installation department (including subcontractors).
- Communicate, promote, and enforce safe construction and installation practices to be followed at all times per regulatory and company standards.
- Serve on executive committee(s), recommending and implementing improvements to structure, processes, and policies.
- Analyze, develop, and improve compensation structures and training/development programs that support continued growth of the organization.
- Seek out opportunities for process improvement within core functions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Construction Management, etc.) strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience executing and supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, and EPC construction projects.
- Proven ability to lead and develop large, cross-functional teams of internal and external professionals.
- Willingness an ability to travel regionally 15-20%.
