Title: Sr. Voice Engineer

Contract Duration: 6-monthContract to hire
Pay Rate: Targeting around $70 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
System Design and Implementation:
- Design, configure, and deploy Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and related Cisco voice products.
- Develop and maintain voice communication infrastructure, including VoIP systems, call control, and voicemail systems.
- Implement and manage Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) and Cisco Unity Connection systems.
Maintenance and Support:
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex voice-related issues.
- Perform regular system maintenance, upgrades, and patches to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Integration and Coordination:
- Integrate voice solutions with other university IT systems, such as network infrastructure and collaboration tools.
- Collaborate with network engineers to ensure seamless integration of voice services with network operations.
- Work with vendors and service providers to coordinate support and resolve service issues.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage voice-related projects, including system upgrades, new deployments, and enhancements.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
- Prepare and present project status reports to university stakeholders.
Documentation and Training:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for voice systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Provide training and support to IT staff and end-users on voice technologies and best practices.
Innovation and Improvement:
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to voice communication and Cisco products.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance voice communication services and user experience.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in voice engineering or related roles, with a focus on Cisco products.
- Proven experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco UCCX.
- Experience with VoIP technologies, call routing, and telephony systems.
Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Collaboration is required.
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Collaboration or similar advanced certifications are highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Cisco voice technologies, network protocols, and telephony standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective project management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
