Airframe Stress Analyst
Location: Fort Worth, Texas (on-site)
Duration: 1 year +
Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled Airframe Stress Analyst with at least 5 years of experience, expertise in CATIA V6, NASTRAN, and Finite Element Analysis, and a strong background in both metallic and composite structures. They are a team-oriented professional with a Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, capable of articulating complex technical concepts and advancing innovative solutions in a dynamic environment
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required. Major in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is preferred.
Master's Degree in Engineering is highly preferred.
Position Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in airframe stress analysis.
Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6/3DX is highly preferred. Experience with other solid modeling CAD tools such as Pro/E, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, etc., will be considered.
Expertise in using NASTRAN, visible on the resume, is mandatory.
Experience with at least one analysis pre/post-processor such as PATRAN, HyperWorks, or Femap.
Detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience focusing on metallic, laminated composite, castings, forgings, additive, elastomeric, or other precision components.
Proficiency with computer-aided design or drafting (CAD) tools for preparing solid models for building FEM.
Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is preferred.
Experience with analytical tools such as Mathcad, MATLAB, Python, or Excel Visual Basic to execute custom in-house macros or results processing techniques.
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software like ENOVIA is a plus.
Previous experience working on cross-functional engineering programs is desired.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and articulate technical data and concepts to a wide audience.
Position Responsibilities:
Satisfy static strength, stiffness, stability margin, fatigue life, damage tolerance, durability, thermal performance, load distribution, failure modes and effects, and other requirements.
Create detailed Finite Element Models (FEM) of components and assemblies using appropriate modeling practices.
Resolve various complex structures and loading environments by applying free body diagrams, classical analysis techniques, and other idealized models.
Support manufacturing and testing of components and sub-systems, interpret technical data, and assist in product improvements.
Review detail, assembly, and installation design definitions to ensure compliance with requirements.
Participate in cross-functional teams, completing various objectives depending on the assigned program lifecycle.
Execute tasks in line with program schedules and cost requirements.
Contribute to advancing the state-of-the-art through creative thinking, personal and team research, technical compliance, and strong analysis skills.
Potential travel to suppliers may be required depending on assignment.
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize activities and tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CATIA V6, NASTRAN, and Finite Element Analysis.
Expertise in GD&T and composites experience.
