Description:
A company in San Diego, CA is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This company specializes in rugged AI computing and autonomous devices, and this person will work on project teams for new customer-driven or standard product designs. They will assist in designing, documenting, and presenting designs and data at key project milestones. They will support projects for the government by using knowledge of thermal and structural dynamics to design optimized sheet metal or machined computer enclosures to meet rugged military and edge environments. They will also specify, design, analyze, simulate, prototype, build, test, document releases to manufacturing required mechanical systems through the ECN/ECO process. They will work cross-functionally with other engineering teams and may be responsible to ad-hoc tasks as prescribed by leadership. This is a full-time opportunity that will require on-site work in Escondido, San Diego, CA.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- 4+ years of applicable experience, preferably in the high-performance computing/computing industry or sheet metal enclosure design.
- Experience with thermal and structural analysis post-design.
- Proficiency in Solidworks.
- Experience with CFD/FEA simulation to validate design requirements.
- Great attention to detail.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with military programs (MIL-STD-810 design requirements)
