As the Senior Flight Test Engineer you'll thrive working in a start up environment and will be leading the flight test campaign on their own additively manufactured UAVs continuing to push the boundaries of what can be achieved.
What you'll do
- Lead and engage in developmental testing of autonomous aerial systems, using sub and full-scale unmanned aerial vehicles.
- Create and execute flight test plans that rigorously evaluate the capabilities of autonomous systems, hardware, and software integrations across various mission profiles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including autonomy, software, hardware engineers, and product leads, to define test requirements.
- Continuously improve test procedures, safety protocols, and documentation standards to uphold the rigor of all flight test operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related technical field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience in autonomous systems testing.
- 1-5 plus years of experience in flight testing, with a strong focus on autonomous or remotely piloted flying systems.
- Proven ability to develop and safely execute test plans for aerial systems within tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to diverse audiences
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel to various testing locations as needed
Any experience in the following would be preferred but isn't essential for this role:
- Developing, testing, and deploying autonomous systems in a defense or aerospace context
- Experience with simulation environments and tools used for testing autonomous systems
- Experience with programming languages used in autonomy and robotics (e.g. Python, C++)
