Licensing Coordinator, Design
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Licensing Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of product development and approvals from concept to production for the Character and Entertainment Sleepwear Division. You will work closely with internal teams, manage submissions to licensors and studios, and build strong relationships with external brand owners. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, a passion for the licensing industry and knowledge of consumer products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Submit concepts, pre-production, and production samples for licensor review and approval.
- Maintain detailed records of all approvals from concept through to completion.
- Download and distribute style guides and artwork via digital media systems to designers and graphic artists.
- Coordinate and track product development and approval processes from initial concept to final production.
- Liaise with internal teams including design, sales, and production to ensure alignment and smooth workflow.
- Manage artwork, preproduction, and production submissions to licensors and studios.
- Build and maintain successful working relationships with external brand owners, interacting with them daily.
- Attend brand owner meetings for creative rollouts, new property launches, and other related activities.
- Organize and maintain product samples, ensuring they are accessible and up-to-date.
- Provide support for the day-to-day operations of the Licensing Department, including handling special requests and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Consumer Products or a related field; experience in character licensing with apparel or accessories is a plus.
- Proficient in Adobe CC Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator), Excel, file/database management, PDN, Starlabs, Brand Comply, Mediabox, OPA.
- Understands elements of product design, print and pattern development, fabrication, color, and typography. Including, technical aspects of construction of products and components in regard to design and development.
- Exceptional organizational skills and time management with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with a friendly and client-focused demeanor.
