Client, a leader in the snow removal industry, is seeking a highly motivated individual for a full-time, year-round Fleet Mechanic position in the Milwaukee/Madison/Northern Illinois area.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair company vehicles and equipment, including trucks, plows, and heavy equipment.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance, such as oil changes and tune-ups.
- Conduct tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
- Identify and repair mechanical problems.
- Examine critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
- Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and systems, including brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
- Plan and establish timetables for completing repairs and maintenance.
- Visit job sites and other facilities to inspect vehicles.
- Maintain knowledge of DOT requirements.
- Test drive vehicles to confirm safe and proper operation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements:
- Valid driver's license; CDL B preferred.
- Availability to work long shifts during the snow season.
- Strong work ethic and attitude.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Background in brakes, suspension, exhaust and emissions, light fabrication, hydraulics, electrical, and diagnostics.
- Prior knowledge of skids, loaders, tractors, etc., is a plus.
- ASE/Other Certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
