Position overview:
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Field Engineer to join our Client's team. The Construction Field Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various aspects of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Also, this position involves working closely with the Project Manager, site superintendents, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of construction projects.
The position requires current or past MTA project experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to determine project requirements and specifications.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Site Management:
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise on-site construction activities, including the work of subcontractors and labor crews.
- Resolve any technical issues or design discrepancies that arise during construction.
Quality Control and Safety:
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all work meets the required standards.
- Conduct safety audits and ensure that all site activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare and review Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and inspection reports.
- Prepare and submit regular project status updates to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical expertise and support to the project team, including interpreting design drawings and specifications.
- Perform quantity calculations and cost estimates for materials and labor.
- Assist in the preparation and review of construction schedules and budgets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Current or past experience working on MTA project is required
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in construction engineering or a related field.
- Experience with construction management software and tools, such as MS Project, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
