As a Senior IT Trainer, you will plan and deliver Information Technology training for attorneys and professional staff. This role reports to the Director of Service Desk & Training Operations and works closely with the Human Resources and Learning & Professional Development departments.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver training on all supported software through various methods including classroom sessions, webinars, videoconferencing, one-on-one coaching, and eLearning course creation.
- Conduct technical training for new hires.
- Collaborate with other IT trainers to develop and maintain a workflow-based curriculum.
- Design, develop, and implement engaging and innovative training strategies that meet learning objectives.
- Represent user experience in firm-wide project teams from inception to implementation, including software testing, training strategy development, and producing supporting documentation and communications.
- Conduct training needs analysis, address performance issues, and recommend appropriate training solutions.
- Work with internal customers to understand specific requirements based on roles, business units, and office locations, and provide adaptable training solutions.
- Stay informed about current trends in training, technology, and instructional design.
- Maintain training records in the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed.
- Travel between firm offices to conduct on-site training as required.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in training and development within a professional service environment; law firm experience is preferred.
- At least five years of experience delivering technical training and creating training documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people in a professional manner.
- Proficient in group facilitation with the ability to adapt content to the target audience and training delivery methods.
- Skilled in building relationships and working effectively with personnel at all levels and locations.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities, whether working independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent technical writing skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate training outlines and user documentation. A writing sample will be required.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (UniversitySite preferred), Document Management Systems (iManage Work preferred), Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat DC, Time Entry & Billing Programs (Intapp Time and Aderant Expert preferred), and Document Template and Numbering software (Litera Forte or Create preferred).
- Experience in eLearning development.
- Willingness to work outside of regular hours as needed.
