Your Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will work to develop and implement policies, manuals, and procedures for various site, local, state, and federal regulatory activities to ensure compliance with radiological and environmental regulations in an industrial manufacturing setting.
Your Challenge:
- Assist with implementing policies for local, state and federal regulatory activities to ensure compliance with mandated regulations.
- Support various site departments including Operations in their individual process improvement activities with review of Environmental and/or radiological regulatory impact.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports to regulatory agencies in support of the following programs: hazardous and residual waste management, air emission permitting, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, industrial sewage, hazardous material inventories, and others.
- Develop and implement training programs for various applications to meet regulatory requirements.
- Participate in planning and execution of site remediation activities including development of plans, contracts, specifications, work instructions.
- Support license and permit amendments and renewals, and work on all sections of the site’s environmental, health, and radiation safety manuals and associated instructions.
- May interface with external regulatory agency representatives from organizations such as the NRC, PADEP, county and local municipalities as well as internal customers
- Support the site radiation protection program, including assisting with program audits, shipment and receipt of radioactive materials.
- Assist with preparation of hazardous waste and material manifests, and conduct shipments in accordance with USDOT regulations.
What you Bring:
- Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
- BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Physics, or related discipline from an accredited institution or recognized equivalent work/field experience in radiological and/or environmental controls.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a field related to environmental compliance and reporting.
- One (1) to two (2) years' experience working with radiological requirements and related health effects is also preferred.
- Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office software is required.
