Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with strong reading, writing, and math skills.
- 7+ years of experience in aircraft sheet metal and structural work, or a relevant mix of education and experience.
- Familiarity with specific aircraft models, such as the Boeing 737 series; knowledge of BBJ is a plus.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and standard hand tools.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and industry-specific software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and plan workloads.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or second shifts as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct aircraft structural work, including sheet metal modifications, heavy repairs, and maintenance, with minimal oversight.
- Ensure all tasks are performed to achieve the highest level of quality.
- Handle documentation for component removals, including tagging, logging weights, bagging hardware, applying warning tags, and protecting parts for storage.
- Understand and navigate basic aircraft structure layouts, such as stringers and frame stations.
- Read, interpret, and execute Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, aircraft manuals, and engineering drawings for modifications and repairs.
- Perform work in compliance with engineering drawings, manufacturer specifications, company standards, and aircraft manuals.
- Keep accurate records of all activities in line with Repair Station Manual, Quality System Manual, and regulatory requirements; ensure documentation is updated with job progress.
- Submit all required documents to Quality Control upon project completion.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on work methods and procedures, strictly following engineering drawings, manufacturer specifications, company standards, and aircraft manuals.
- Assist in various ground handling tasks, such as servicing, lifting, shoring, and towing aircraft.
- Report any issues related to work assignments, including shortages of parts or materials, workflow problems, and discrepancies in drawings.
- Maintain a safe and tidy work environment according to company standards.
- Inspect and report non-airworthy aircraft, components, or items.
- Identify and report any defective tools, machinery, or equipment required for production.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Accurately document activities, including material usage, production, quality, and timekeeping.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area in line with company standards.
- Complete all required training in a timely manner.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
