Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distinguished Engineer in Productivity Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Elevate Engineering Expertise in Security:
Strategic Direction: Define and drive the security strategy for our InfoSec department, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals. Communicate complex security concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Engineering Best Practices: Foster the adoption of engineering best practices, including continuous improvements, postmortems, and common design patterns, across the InfoSec team.
Mentorship: Mentor and develop junior engineers, enhancing their security knowledge and skills.
Advanced Solutions: Lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge security solutions to address evolving threats.
Improve Security Posture:
Assessment and Fortification: Collaborate with SEEK and Prod Sec teams to assess and strengthen existing security measures to safeguard against potential threats.
Threat Modeling: Conduct regular threat modeling and security assessments to identify vulnerabilities, and provide actionable insights for risk management.
Communication: Integrate security insights into all facets of LinkedIn’s operations by effectively communicating with cross-functional teams and partners.
Enable Proactive Investigations/Hunting:
Tooling and Systems: Develop and maintain advanced tools and systems for enhanced threat detection and response.
Proactive Investigation: Conduct proactive investigations to identify indicators of compromise and work with the detection engineering team to improve detection coverage.
Threat Monitoring: Stay ahead of emerging threats through continuous monitoring and lead incident response efforts to address and mitigate security breaches swiftly.
Bolster Product Security and Security Infrastructure:
Secure by Design: Ensure products are secure through rigorous security testing and code reviews, ensuring security is integrated by design.
Infrastructure Enhancement: Strengthen our security infrastructure to support scalable and robust defenses.
Security Tools: Implement and maintain security tools and technologies to protect systems and data effectively.
Qualifications:
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of work experience in information security with a proven track record in security architecture, risk management, and incident response.
- Experience in security frameworks, protocols, and technologies, including network security, application security, cloud security, and endpoint protection.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent is highly desirable.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The pay range for this role is $227000 to $373000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, and benefits.
