The Winter Sports Technical Services Associate will work closely with HEAD’s Vice President of Alpine in a supporting role for the Winter Sports sales and marketing team.
The Technical Services Associate will manage HEAD’s Boulder workshop and internal test fleet. Additionally, they will assist in managing and tracking selected competitive athlete, VIP, and team member equipment orders. Occasional cross-department interactions with marketing and events management will be required.
This person will require strong technical knowledge about ski and snowboard equipment, as well as high level ski tuning and boot fitting knowledge. The candidate will not only be responsible for keeping HEAD’s test fleet in pristine condition, but they may also occasionally speak with end consumers and HEAD accounts about equipment technical details.
This position is based in Boulder, CO. Candidates will need to reside within this geographic location or relocate to be considered for this role.
A team player, the Technical Services Associate may from time-to-time travel to HEAD’s partner retail stores, ski areas, or various ski and snowboard-related events are that HEAD deems their presence needed.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
· Provide world-class service to our U.S. account base, sales team, athletes, VIPs, and influencers.
· Manage HEAD’s demo fleet and internal inventory. Tune skis on HEAD’s Wintersteiger Jupiter tuning “robot”
· Maintain HEAD’s showroom. Ship items as needed, everything from sticker requests to large pallet-based shipments
· Enter and/or track equipment orders for HEAD athletes, VIPs, and team members
· Assist packing HEAD’s displays, samples, demos, and the like, for various industry events, such as trade shows and product tests
· Distribute items to reps, retailers, and media
· On occasion, speak to retailers, resorts, and consumers alike to answer technical questions about HEAD and Tyrolia winter sports products.
· Manage SWAG and POS shipments from Boulder office
· Manage promotional event requests and item fulfillment
· Assist communications with strategic partners to maximize brand and product exposure. Build and maintain strong industry relationships
· Assist winter sports sales and marketing team in various capacities
Skills/Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
· Strong understanding of business and marketing
· High level ski/snowboard workshop management skills
· Professional ski tuning and boot fitting experience are required. Ability to operate a ski tuning robot and boot fitting tools are highly preferred
· Strong skiing and/or snowboarding ability (e.g. PSIA Level 6 or above)
· Expert-level retail snow sports industry knowledge
· PC literate with skills in Windows and Microsoft Office software
· Organization, high-level attention to detail, accuracy, professionalism, and positive attitude
· Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks as necessary
· Ability to lift and move items up to 50+ pounds
· Ability/Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
· Safe driving record
· Ability to drive a large truck and/or van
· Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
