-Provides guidance and support to internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, terms, and conditions.
-Draft and negotiate subcontracts and agreements to ensure terms comply with legal requirements and company policies.
-Prepare and manage correspondence with the Owner and Subcontractors in line with the contract provisions.
-Prepare and negotiate cost proposals in coordination with the project team.
-Maintain a register and records of all contract changes with the Owner and Subcontractors.
-Conducts contract administration including interpretation and implementation of administrative requirements of contract documents and ensuring owner compliance.
-Proactively identifies and address any deviations or issues that may arise during the contract terms.
-Processes interim and final payment requests, including obtaining full and proper payment for work executed, all in accordance with the terms of the contract.
-Manages relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and service provider.
-Serves as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries and issues from the project team.
-Prepares regular reports and analysis on contract activity, including key metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
-Creates and negotiates requests for variation and claims.
-Mentors, coaches and provides feedback to Assistant Contract Managers.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-10 – 15 years in a similar role in a multinational construction company, and with a civil works construction background, preferred.
-Full understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of the contracting process;
-Full understanding and working knowledge of the construction process of complex infrastructure projects;
-Experience in the key legal risk areas such as but not limited to Contractual Liability, Insurance requirements, defective performance and Warranty obligations;
-Understanding of key commercial risks and able to lead project risk review process and assessments.
-Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or other relevant related degree.
-Specialization and good knowledge in Construction Law
-Member of professional body, preferred.
