Job Requirements
- Installation, setup, and control of automotive vehicles in a climatic wind tunnel chamber to execute performance measurements, durability testing and ensure regulatory compliance
- Understands the principles of a refrigeration cycle and the function of all the components and be proficient in diagnosing refrigerant system issues
- Interface with computer based electronic HMI test systems, control PCs, and data acquisition units
- Installation of instrumentation and equipment to monitor test parameters including measurements of voltage, amperage, RPM, temperature, pressure, and flow
- Understand test procedural documentation and execute tests efficiently and correctly in accordance with the written standards
- Observes consistency in test data, interprets results, and report irregularities to test engineer and/or supervisor
- Analyze data for accuracy & assist in root cause of failures
- Assist with troubleshooting complex test equipment and stands
- Diagnosis and resolve test component or bench issues
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance
- Ability to cross train in various test areas
- Become proficient on multiple test benches in multiple areas of the lab and WT
- Take direction from test area supervisor or test engineer for daily assignments
- Operate in test request system: recording actual hours worked – both labor and equipment for a given test
- Accessing system for specifications or test parameters
- Utilize Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
- Keep work area clean and orderly
Job Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in automotive testing/validation or quality assurance
- DAQ instrumentation experience
- Wind Tunnel and/or Test Cell experience
- R&D Testing thermal components
