We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer (various levels of seniority)to join a growing team in New Jersey offering hybrid working.
The team focuses on designing & implementing cutting-edge optical modules for high-performance computing applications.
As a Mechanical Engineer your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the mechanical design & development of optical module packaging, including package structure, layout, & material selection.
- Develop & execute testing procedures to validate packaging designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards & customer expectations.
- Troubleshoot & resolve technical issues related to packaging design, assembly processes, & material properties.
- Build & maintain component models & packaging assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Generate technical drawings for components & assemblies, utilizing GD & T best practices.
- Design & develop tooling & fixtures to support package assembly processes.
- Collaborate with external suppliers & internal teams to ensure seamless integration of optical, electrical, & mechanical components.
As a Mechanical Engineer your skills will include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in IC package design
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, including Product Data Management (PDM)
- Experience with ANSYS Mechanical or similar FEA tools
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping, with experience in Formlabs 3D printing being a plus
- Knowledge of design for manufacturing, including CNC machining, casting, & metal injection molding (MIM)
- Experience with optical module reliability, ideally with proficiency in Telcordia GR-468 or similar standards
- Expertise in advanced IC packaging technologies such as 3D/2.5D IC, FOWLP, & MCM FC-BGA
- Experience with high-speed test sockets & connectors
- Strong organizational skills & excellent verbal & written communication abilities
