Safety Training Consultant
Overview:
- We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Training Consultant to join our team.
- The primary responsibility of this role is to provide comprehensive safety training across all business units, including CPR, confined space, fire extinguisher training, and other safety protocols.
- The ideal candidate will help update training materials, create schedules, and prepare for future training needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety training sessions for various business units, covering essential topics such as CPR, confined space safety, and fire extinguisher use.
- Develop and maintain training materials and resources, ensuring they are up-to-date and relevant.
- Create and manage training schedules, preparing the organization for upcoming training needs in 2025.
- Utilize systematic approaches to training design and evaluation.
- Travel to different plant locations to deliver training sessions as needed.
- Provide feedback and analysis on training effectiveness and suggest program improvements.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Develop and adhere to a structured training schedule.
- Travel to various plant locations to conduct training sessions (50-70% travel within the state, with some overnight stays required).
- Maintain a typical workday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with some flexibility. Overtime is rare.
- Use a personal vehicle for travel, with mileage reimbursed.
Team Structure:
- Report to a manager and collaborate with three individual contributors and a coordinator.
- Participate in regular team meetings to stay aligned on goals and progress.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Interview Process:
- One virtual round of interviews with a panel of three interviewers.
Travel Requirements:
- 50-70% travel within the state, with some travel requiring overnight stays.
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety training or related fields.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a safety or operations organization.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
Preferred:
- Experience in designing and delivering safety training programs.
- Familiarity with systematic approaches to training design and evaluation.
Certifications:
- No specific certifications required, but relevant safety certifications are a plus.
