Job Title: Network Operations Center Manager
Location: Onsite in Zionsville, IN, hybrid schedule
Duration: 9 month contract to hire, position will convert permanent
Job Summary: The Senior NOC Manager will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the Network Operations Center, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our network infrastructure. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and leadership skills to build and manage the NOC from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- NOC Establishment:
- Design and implement the NOC infrastructure, including selecting appropriate tools, technologies, and processes.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network monitoring, incident management, and escalation protocols.
- Network Monitoring and Management:
- Oversee continuous monitoring of network performance, availability, and security.
- Implement and manage network monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues proactively.
- Incident Management:
- Lead the identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of network incidents to minimize downtime.
- Establish and maintain an incident response plan, including escalation procedures and communication protocols.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure the implementation of robust network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities to protect the network from threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Plan and execute routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patch management, and hardware upgrades.
- Ensure all systems are running optimally and securely.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of NOC engineers and support staff.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to keep the team updated with the latest technologies and best practices.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance and efficiency of the NOC.
- Generate regular reports on network performance, incidents, and other key metrics for senior management.
- Customer Support:
- Provide support to internal and external users experiencing network-related issues.
- Communicate effectively with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in network operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong technical expertise in network monitoring, security, troubleshooting, and cloud networking.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in building and managing a NOC.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
