The Opportunity 🌟
In this role, you'll work directly with roofing insulation manufacturers, helping them optimize their use of our client's MDI and polyol products to create high-performance polyiso boards.
What You'll Do
- Provide expert technical service and application support to poly-iso roofing board manufacturers in the US and Canada
- Lead application-focused laboratory projects and field trials to optimize polyiso foam formulations
- Troubleshoot and optimize customer production processes for poly-iso roofing boards, focusing on the interaction between MDI, polyols, and other additives
- Drive new technology deployment and product application development in the poly-iso sector
- Collaborate with account managers and the Technology and Innovation group to enhance product applications
- Document customer visits, technical support, and application development
- Protect intellectual property related to product applications
- Conduct training sessions for customers on optimal application techniques for our client's MDI and polyol products
What We're Looking For
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in polyurethane applications, especially in continuous rigid foam processes for roofing insulation
- Proven track record in providing application engineering support to customers in the polyiso roofing industry
- In-depth knowledge of MDI-based isocyanates, polyester polyols, and their formulation for rigid foam systems
- Strong understanding of polyiso manufacturing processes and equipment
- Experience with thermal insulation testing methods and building energy efficiency standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to optimize formulations and processes
- Strong project management skills (Six Sigma or Project Management certifications a plus)
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to various audiences
- Willingness to travel up to 25-50% of the time to customer sites and industry events
