Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist who will develop, review, revise, and publish documentation that provides all Maintenance & Engineering personnel with necessary information and instructions. This is an onsite role located in SeaTac, WA.
Duties:
- Publish documentation that adheres to applicable Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Defense standards, Occupational Safety & Health Administration Laws and Regulations, International Air Transport Association Regulations, Air Transport Association Specifications
- Lead the preparation of procedures for processing technical data through the various stages of development and publication
- Make recommendations, as subject matter expert, on program requirements and procedures based on FAA guidelines for airworthiness and compliance
- Coordinate and communicate with Federal Aviation Administration as necessary and facilitates resolution of audit findings for the department
- Maintain collegial relationships with personnel of other airlines for the exchange of information and experience in matters of mutual interest
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in aviation safety or a related discipline, or an additional 2+ years of experience in technical writing, publication, or other related area in lieu of this degree
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing, publication, or other related area
- Excellent communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening), presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation
- Ability to confidently lead weekly meetings which include members from the FAA and company managers or directors
- Strong analytical and complex problem-solving ability, particularly in identifying issues and trends
- Ability to meet assigned project deadlines with self-directed decision making confidence
- Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficiency with HTML/XML languages
