Job Summary:
Our client, based in Memphis, TN, is seeking a seasoned IT Project Manager to lead their migration from JD Edwards to Infor. This role requires a local candidate with extensive experience in IT project management, particularly in application development, with a strong background in cross-functional and remote team management. The ideal candidate will be proficient in agile, waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies and possess the ability to drive successful project outcomes while maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Scope & Planning: Facilitate the definition of project scope, level of effort, strategic alignment, and business value. Engage with business and technology leads to ensure project objectives are aligned with business goals.
- Project Management: Establish project priorities, manage resources, budgets, timelines, deliverables, risks, and issues. Provide meaningful progress and feedback reporting to allow for course corrections as needed.
- Agile & Scrum Leadership: Manage the scrum process, remove impediments, and coordinate daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Assist product owners in maintaining product backlogs.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the IT Department’s key link with business clients/product owners and development teams. Engage all stakeholders at appropriate stages to ensure project success.
- Vendor & Resource Management: Assist with vendor resource management and ensure the effective installation and first use of new applications.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve issues related to applications, escalating as necessary, and ensuring timely problem-solving.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complex IT Project Experience: Manage complex IT projects, ensuring the use of appropriate project planning tools such as MS Project, JIRA, and Visio.
- Training & Implementation: Assist with the design and implementation of training programs for clients of new and enhanced applications.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring team building.
- Communication & Negotiation: Build strong relationships with stakeholders, using effective negotiation and interpersonal communication skills to drive project success.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant work experience in IT project management, particularly in application development.
- Certifications:
- Scrum Certification (Desired)
- PMP Certification (Desired)
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with MS Project, JIRA, Visio
- Familiarity with One Plan, Power BI, and Kanban (Helpful)
- Project Methodologies: Understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Soft Skills: Assertive, accountable, and skilled in conflict resolution with a variety of personalities.
