Akkodis is seeking a ADAS Characteristics Development Engineer for a full-time position over the next few years on our team near the San Jose, CA area. The Characteristics Development Engineer will be responsible for evaluating and monitoring the characteristics of the vehicle ADAS functions to evaluate the look & feel and the performance of the different ADAS functions in the domain of assisted driving, parking, and safety features. This includes the coordination of all ADAS characteristics testing activities in our US office, across various ADAS projects. Will plan and execute the test drives on a regular basis and perform in-vehicle tests to obtain subjective and objective key performance indicators. The ideal candidate possesses strong experience associated with competitor benchmarking, measurement equipment, and wiring while familiar with a myriad of various ADAS systems but is not necessarily an expert at all.
Pay Range: $160,000 to $220,000/yr (commensurate based on experience level)

ADAS Characteristics Development Engineer job responsibilities include:
Definition of ADAS characteristics (40%)
- Setup and maintenance of the characteristics list
- Definition of US-specific characteristics together with the ADAS characteristics team
- Negotiation of characteristics goals in the early product phase
- Derivation, evaluation, and consolidation of subjective measures / key performance indicators (KPIs) for US-specific use cases
- Planning and carrying out benchmark test drives for objective and subjective evaluation
Objectification of ADAS characteristics (40%)
- Derivation, evaluation, and consolidation of objective measures / key performance indicators for US-specific use cases, based on subjective measures
- Definition, commissioning, and maintenance of measurement equipment
- Execution of test drives on proving grounds as well as on public roads
Approval (20%)
- Planning and carrying out approval test drives with near-series vehicles
- Monitoring and reporting of achievement of the characteristics goals to team lead ADAS characteristics.
- Reporting characteristics approval status to project leads and management
- In charge of giving characteristics approval recommendations for the US market
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferential.
- Greater than 1 year of professional experience conducting benchmark in-vehicle testing for ADAS characteristics is required.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Effective analytical and conceptual skills to derive adequate solutions for technical problems
- Knowledge of vehicle architecture, networks, and ADAS functions.
- Expertise in ADAS-related hardware and software.
- First-hand experience working with Vector measurement tools like CANalyzer, CANape, CANoe, and middleware like ADTF, ADS2, or similar.
- Experience with differential GPS and inertial measurement units.
- Profound experience working with MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experienced with requirements specification processes and tooling like DOORS, Codebeamer, or equivalent.
- Ability to work highly independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Open-minded and empathic work style.
