Our well-known technology client is looking for a Product Design Engineer to join their team!
This will be a 12 month long (40 hrs/week), hybrid (2 days WFH, 3 days onsite), contract role in Cupertino, CA.

In this role, you will ideate concepts, design down to the details, prototype & test, and travel to assembly sites to optimize the design.
Key Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal, ability to clearly communicate design ideas and contribute to brainstorms
• Mechanical Design experience in course work, internship or hobby
• 2+ years experience in a mechanical engineering role
Description
• Collaborate with industrial designers, product integrity, hardware, software, and technology groups to refine & execute on the design of the product.
• Develop initial product layouts. Generate concepts, prototype, demonstrate & test to drive down-selection.
• Partner with external vendors & internal manufacturing teams to optimize designs for function, cosmetics and manufacturability.
• Ensure design meets requirements throughout its lifecycle by performing stress, tolerance, and failure analyses.
• Travel up to 20% in Asia to support factory builds.
Skills you will strengthen on the job: tolerance analysis, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, design for assembly/manufacturability, designing for high volume manufacturing of injection molded, die cast, sheet metal, and machined parts, metrology, simple fixture design, computer aided design, statistical process control, failure analysis
Education
B.S. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $65.00-67.00 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
