As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for evaluating alternatives leading to the development and implementation of manufacturing processes on new and existing products to achieve an optimum relationship between cost, capacity, and quality. This position is responsible for every aspect of process engineering, industrial engineering, production standard costs, improving operating performance, identifying and reducing waste, supporting new product launches, supporting safety initiatives, and troubleshooting in assigned areas of responsibility.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with the Operations staff to ensure that all unit performance goals and objectives are supported.
- Troubleshoot processes in areas of responsibility. Coordinate all mechanical/electrical repairs with the Maintenance Department as needed
- Analyze and help plan resource capacity and utilization, define work space requirements, workflow, design layout of equipment and work space for maximum efficiency, safety and ergonomic considerations.
- Develop and maintain all production routings, work measurement standards, manufacturing set-up and work instructions, work center descriptions, etc. for operations in assigned areas.
- Coordinate activities in scrap reduction, elimination of rework, material variances, labor variances, and overall continuous improvement in assigned areas.
- Support new product development activities and launches through MFT’s toll-gate process. Utilize appropriate APQP tools to validate design for manufacturability, execute PFMEA’s, create and document robust build processes, and work with cross-functional team to ensure successful launches.
- Support efforts in the development and implementation of LEAN manufacturing concepts including developing strategies, training employees, and facilitating continuous improvement events.
- Plan, justify, execute, and monitor capital programs as assigned.

Skills/Experience We’re Looking For
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with all levels of associates, especially shop floor personnel
- Effectively plans and organizes projects impacting the work of others
- Strong leadership ability, demonstrates personal integrity in all interactions
- Adaptable to change
- Working knowledge of LEAN principles and 80/20 business processes a plus
Required Qualifications
- BSME, BSIE or equivalent
- Prior experience in manufacturing, 3+ years preferred
