Position Description:
LSG is currently seeking a Project Manager with experience in providing project engineering and project management on transportation capital improvement projects. The ideal candidate will support a sales tax-funded transportation infrastructure program for a transportation authority in Colorado Springs. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in all phases of project development and project management, including managing engineering consultants and contractors.
The Project Manager will be responsible for reviewing studies, concepts, designs, and other pertinent information, developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for design and construction management services, and managing various aspects of the project from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects of variable scale from concept level through construction.
- Review previous studies, concepts, designs, and other pertinent information.
- Obtain input and information from appropriate client departments and outside agencies/utilities.
- Develop Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for design and construction management services.
- Participate in consultant selection committees and assist in finalizing contracts, including detailed scopes of work, schedules, and fees.
- Provide ongoing engineering review and evaluation of designs by design consultants for compliance with criteria, standards, and specifications.
- Assist with bid advertisement, bid opening, and make recommendations on contract awards.
- Develop and maintain a project-specific Public Information and Involvement Plan during the design and construction phases.
- Prepare periodic reports, review invoices, facilitate environmental permit processing, and ensure all necessary permits are obtained.
- Monitor and evaluate project schedules, coordinate with nearby projects, and manage extensive project close-out procedures.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience providing project management services in a civil engineering or related field.
- Currently licensed as a PE (Professional Engineer) in Colorado or able to obtain PE or reciprocity within six months of hire.
- Strong knowledge of roadway, bridge, utilities, and drainage technical aspects of municipal projects.
- Strong writing and speaking skills with the ability to convey technical project aspects to a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent coordination skills working with consultants, contractors, and client staff.
