Trillium Construction is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in civil construction for a position with our client in Huntsville, AL. Our client is a reputable commercial contractor specializing in a diverse range of projects, including financial institutions, automotive facilities, healthcare centers, educational buildings, corporate offices, industrial sites, religious structures, and retail spaces. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in general contracting. Compensation ranges from $95K to $125K, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive plan for project goals and execution.
- Work with field management to generate job specific safety plan and advocate safety as the number one priority on the jobsite and enforce compliance with company and jobsite safety plan and policies with field management.
- Initiate and organize channels of communication for construction projects and serve as the main point of contact for all architects, engineers, surveyors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Work with preconstruction teams and field supervision to identify and implement all contract deliverables, quality testing, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate and strategize with preconstruction team in transition from the bidding/proposal phase to the award and implementation of notice to proceed and subcontractor bid/scope negotiations. (Schedule of Values & Value Engineering)
- Initiate, organize, and implement all bonding and insurance requirements per company policies and procedures as necessary for each project.
- At the beginning of each project strategically coordinate with field staff for staging, logistics, and phasing plan.
- Create, update, and execute project recordkeeping in Thrash’s cloud-based project file system. Abide by established formats, procedures, and processes to ensure continuity amongst projects and project activities.
- Responsible for project startup, including obtaining permits and licenses and managing jobsite mobilization.
- Create and organize and transition each project’s schedule of values and financial documentation into companywide Computer Ease financial software. Implement set-up, maintenance, and creation of financial reporting.
- Facilitate subcontractor pre-mobilization/startup meetings, notice to proceeds, and staffing commitments.
- Issue and administer thorough subcontracts and purchase orders for all necessary subcontractors and vendors.
- Assist or lead the development and implementation of detailed schedules through Primavera P6 Software. Actively collaborate with senior project manager and superintendent for accuracy and constructability.
- Lead responsibility for project quality control plan implementation and compliance.
- Facilitate and document weekly safety meetings in coordination with field staff.
- Lead, prioritize, review, and expedite submittal and RFI creation and approval/resolutions.
- Create all and routinely update all project contact logs, RFI logs, change order logs, insurance logs, substitution lists,
- Expedite and coordinate material deliveries according to project schedule and budget requirements.
- Understand superintendent workload and maintain accurate labor forecasts and requirements for subcontractors per their contract documents, scope of work, and schedule. Keep and maintain a time-impact log.
- Develop, organize, and administer all RFCs and change orders as appropriate. Follow proper channels for approval and procedure.
- Assist or lead the review and approval process of shop drawings for adherence to contract documents, constructability, clarifications, errors, omissions, and discrepancies.
- Create, review, and organize revised estimates for upper management and senior project manager.
- Review and approve material/equipment invoices according to project budget.
- Prepare and submit monthly payment applications as appropriate through Thrash’s policies and procedures.
- Meet with city and state agencies to review project permitting and necessary inspections as required.
- Lead and attend OAC progress meetings. Create, organize, and maintain agenda and meeting minutes.
- Manage and oversee job close-out documentation and procedures: closeout documents, final job report, and final accounting, punch-list execution.

Education, Skills, Knowledge, & Experience
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in construction related field
- Minimum of 8 years of verifiable and relevant experience in commercial construction
- Current knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
- Professional ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal contract documents.
- Ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written) – to executive management, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and design firms.
- Basic skills in math skills and competency related to construction responsibility.
- Computer proficiency with current software systems. Extremely organized with ability to multitask.
