Job Description:
The Manufacturing Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of manufacturing projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of high-quality products. The Manufacturing Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain to meet customer requirements and achieve company objectives. Key responsibilities include planning and scheduling, process improvement, risk management, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Monitor and adjust project schedules as necessary to ensure timely completion.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with production, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with company goals.
- Budget Management: Track project expenses and manage budgets to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and outcomes.
- Process Improvement: Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations and customer specifications.
- Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing expectations, providing updates, and addressing any concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, budgets, and any changes to the project scope. Present regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance, support, and clear direction to ensure project goals are met.
Employment Requirements:
- Education/Experience: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred, along with 3-7 years of experience in project management within a manufacturing environment. PMP certification is a plus.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ISO, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma is advantageous.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project or equivalent tools. Solid problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Additional Qualifications: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Experience with ERP systems and data analysis is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
