Senior Java Developer (5+ years of hands-on coding experience)
Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 plus bonus
Hybrid with 2 days per week in Brea, CA (Only local candidates are being considered at this time)
- Must have Java, Springboot, Hibernate, Spring and recent versions of Angular
- Must have: J2EE, Angular (recent versions), Springboot (need hands-on experience, not just knowledge), databases/backend logic (SQL statements/queries)
- Would like to see some experience with Websphere
- Experience with SAP, S/4 HANA and SAP BTP would be considered a plus
- Strong communication skills
Seeking an Application Programming Analyst to complete the full cycle of multiple enhancements for new and existing projects including analysis, design, development, and maintaining enterprise-level RESTful web services using Java J2EE technologies. Understand the business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications for application development. Investigate problems and complaints caused by production programs and systems. Combine technical expertise with analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver effective software solutions. Research, learn, and apply new technologies and programming techniques to the development process. Provide code reviews and assist developers as needed. This role requires a strong understanding of API architecture, integration, and deployment in a microservices environment.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop, support and maintain new and existing J2EE multi-tier web applications which reside on Websphere, Websphere portal, and open source API with Spring Boot.
- Develop and implement RESTful web services and APIs using Java J2EE technologies.
- Integrate APIs with various third-party services and internal systems.
- Work closely with architects and other team members to design robust, scalable, and secure APIs.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Ensure best practices in coding standards, unit testing, and version control.
- Optimize and enhance the performance of existing APIs.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed APIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, debug application programs, and ensure optimal performance of APIs.
- Participate actively in Agile development processes including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Design, develop and support application solutions with focus on SAP BTP Development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years of Websphere, webSphere Portal and Java/J2EE development with a focus on RESTful web services. Knowledge of Jenkins, Web Services, Hibernate and Spring framework.
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong proficiency of Java and J2EE technologies
- Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, Hibernate, Spring Framework like Spring Boot, JUnit, jQuery and modern Angular development
- Strong experience with RESTful API design and implementation
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with API security frameworks and practices (OAuth, JWT, etc.)
- Strong Knowledge of database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and ORM frameworks
- Vast experience in using RAD and IntelliJ IDEs
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Proficient in using version control systems like Git
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
- Strong understanding of LDAP
- Experience with IBM WebSphere/WebSphere Portal
- Knowledge of developing Web Services
- Familiarity with XMLAccess
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Some knowledge of SAP including S/4 Hana and SAP BTP
- Knowledge of Maven for project management
- Understanding of IBM System i and DB2
Compensation:
The estimated pay range for this position is USD $120K – 130K and is a Non-Exempt role.
